Spring Showers

Welcome to another week of Cabbagetown News!

We thank you so much for continuing to tune in each week to learn about the great events happening in our beautiful neighbourhood.

We are starting our Business Spotlight this week featuring the Cabbagetown Barbers:
Frank Rosati & Jimmy Cogliano.

Frank and Jimmy were recently featured in Panoram Italia magazine (Feb/Mar 2012 Vol. 2 No. 1) with a cover story showcasing their Cabbagetown Barber Shop at 525 Parliament St.

Or stop by the shop to pick up your free copy of the magazine.

The business partners met in 1966 and have been friends ever since.

They took over D.C. Barbershop in 1993 and changed its name to reflect the fantastic neighbourhood they chose to put down roots in due to its vicinity to the downtown core. Along with assistant Mandy Sellers, they've created a city-wide reputation over the years and have celebrity clientele alongside notable members of the Cabbagetown Community as regular customers.
"With Frank and Jimmy, you go for the haircut and you stay for the stories..."

The duo agrees that if there's one person in your life that you should trust, it's your barber.

A good barber shop "is meant to represent an oasis for men," says Jimmy, "providing a warm atmosphere, good conversation and most of all, a great haircut. At Cabbagetown, we always want our clients to leave with a smile."

Come visit Mandy, Jimmy, and Frank at 525 Parliament Street.
Monday to Friday 8:30am - 6pm

Cabbagetowners in Action

On Tuesday, May 22, 2012, UforChange hosted His Royal Highness Prince Charles of Wales' visit to Cabbagetown. Local resident Jeff Lee had the honour to greet the prince. He shared his story with us:
“Welcome Prince.” I said.

“How is your business?” the Prince asked.
“So far so good.” I answered.
“Oh, even in the recession, not bad.”
Then he shook my hand and continued his visit.
We hope you enjoyed these great photos that captured such a historic moment.
